About
While I am originally from the occasionally verdant, often desolate, and always strangely welcoming Midwest, I currently live in the incredibly beautiful Rogue Valley in Southern Oregon. If you’re not sure where that is, it’s just above California.
I’ve been working in some way or another on distributed systems for a little over 15 years. I do the most good the closer to customers I am.
I’ve been brewing beer in my basement — and now garage — for just about as long.
I’ve been making sawdust — and occasionally finishing a project — for even longer, although the projects are getting increasingly complicated lately.
I’ve been playing the trombone for even longer still, albeit with a 12-or-so-year hiatus in there somewhere.
I sometimes remember to read a book.
I have a motorcycle that I like to ride, and also sometimes accidentally almost blow up the fuel pump on.
I guess basically I seem to have a lot of hobbies. I think it’s what keeps me from going totally insane after dealing with complex enterprise systems for so long in my professional life.
Here’s a picture of me and my beautiful and incredibly patient wife (Evelyn) ❤️ at the coast. As we do.
